I am planning to cover the common techniques used in organic chemistry lab that students may find useful (e.g. purification and characterisation). I also give tips that are often needed when doing the lab practice, but not many people may know about.
I throw in bits of theories if I think that it might help understanding what’s really going on, but I try my best not to get too theoretical. I will – if necessary or if anyone asks – cover the theory in a separate post.
Here, I focus more on the practical side: how organic chemists actually do the thing in a real research lab, when to do it, and why we do it.
